PAIA MANUALS - FINAL DEADLINE LOOMS – 31 DECEMBER 2011

PAIA MANUALS - FINAL DEADLINE LOOMS – 31 DECEMBER 2011

It's been six years since all businesses were warned to comply with the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), which requires all public and private bodies to prepare, lodge and publish (including on any website you have) a PAIA information manual.

Then, at the last minute, most smaller businesses were granted an extension from their original deadline of 31 August 2005 until 31 December 2011. At the time, hopes were expressed that small businesses might be exempted altogether which was not the case. At the moment it seems most unlikely that further extensions or exemptions will be granted.

Every business operation, regardless of size of operations, is included - the definition of "private body" includes any person or partnership carrying on "any trade, business or profession", together with any "juristic person"

NSi registered accountants and auditors, situated in Techno Park is able to assist in the compilation and lodgement of these manuals. Our fee is R950 per manual, and a discounted fee of R750 per manual will be granted to a group of companies with 3 or more private bodies.
